Antipodes Theatre Company presents "Unsung", musical theatre songs as you’ve never heard them before. A concert fundraiser featuring a dozen of Melbourne's best singers and comedians performing songs from musical theatre roles they wouldn't traditionally be cast in.
Featuring songs from Hamilton, Oliver, Jesus Christ Superstar and more, Unsung promises a night to remember!
The evening will feature a silent auction and raffle, along with the reveal of Antipodes' 2023 Season.
Hosted by Peppy Smears, this event will be a fun-filled night of stories, songs, and celebrating Antipodes' commitment to providing an inclusive and collaborative environment for independent theatre in Melbourne.
All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting Antipodes programming, including new work development and artist residencies.

David is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (Voice), a founding member of Antipodes Theatre Company and is a freelance performer, musical director and vocal coach based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. As a vocal coach, David works with singers, actors and other professional voice-users; he also tutors and lectures in Musical Theatre for Theatre Blacks and the VCA. Performance highlights include the Australian premiere GHOST QUARTET, #REALLY?! and two seasons of MAD WORLD. Musical direction credits include FALSETTOS (StageArt), GHOST QUARTET (ATC), INTO THE WOODS (Bottled Snail Productions) and MAD WORLD (DBS).

Mama Alto is a jazz singer, cabaret artiste & gender transcendent diva. She is a transgender & queer person of colour whose writing has been featured at MTO's Cyber Electric, Melbourne Writers Festival, Queerstories, Emerging Writers Festival, Word In Hand, The Age, Archer Magazine, Querelle 2018, TheMusic, and Melbourne Recital Centre's Soundescapes. She contributed to Queerstories (ed. Maeve Marsden, Hachette Australia 2018) and Living & Loving in Diversity (ed. Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli, Wakefield Press & AGMC 2019). As part of her 2019 Creative Victoria Creators Fund fellowship and her 2020 Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowship, she has begun work on her forthcoming book exploring the concept of 'the diva.'

Milo Hartill

"When Will My Life (Career) Begin?" (Tangled)
Milo Hartill is a Perth born and bred actor, also located in Melbourne, who trained at WAAPA (2018) and the Victorian College of the Arts (2019-present) in Musical Theatre. Recently Milo was featured in the viral “I Need You to See Me” video, by Vidya Makan, and was a finalist for the inaugural AOC Initiative, set up by Tarik Frimpong. Milo has performed in many queer and burlesque performance venues and events in 2020, including the Melbourne Midusmma Festival in fem fantasy and on the mainstage, Oddball: 2020 Vision, Decolonise Pride 2020, performing and hosting, and also 2020 Rave Relief.

Rachel Lewindon

An award-winning composer, sound designer, pianist and musical director. Her sound palette has developed from her classical piano background with contemporary influences of voice, processive ensemble work and timbral electronic synthesis. She is thrilled to have had her work premiered both internationally and nationally as well as enjoying frequenting the local parks with her canine companion, Henry. Danielle Matthews is a Graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and the inaugural winner of the prestigious Rob Guest Endowment Award. Notable theatre and concert credits include: Showboat (The Production Company), Where Do I Begin (The Voice of Shirley Bassey), The Silent Anzac (European Tour), An Evening with Stephen Sondheim, Respect the Musical (Australia Tour), Big Band Beat (Tokyo Disney), Another Opening Another Show (Manilla St Productions), Ship of Fools (Gary Young), TRIBE (Anthony Crowley), Twisted Broadway, Light the Night, Hats Off For Sondheim, Carols by Candlelight, Morning Melodies, Sing for a Cure, The Rob Guest Endowment Concert and The Helpmann Awards.

Tomas Parrish

Tomas is originally from Wollongong, Dharawal Country, and acknowledges the Dharawal people, and that sovereignty was never ceded. Tomas studied at Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) completing the Music Theatre Foundation Program (2015), and the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) last year. He was the recipient of the Nancye Hayes Scholarship which he used to further his studies in London. Credits include The Music of AR Rahman (MSO 2017), Vivid White (Ensemble, MTC 2017), A Chorus Line (Bobbie and Paul Understudy, 2018), Patti Lupone - Don’t Monkey With Broadway (Hamer Hall, 2018) and Into The Woods (Steward and Baker Understudy, 2018).

Geraldine Quinn

Geraldine Quinn (Spicks and Specks, Whovians, Upper Middle Bogan, How To Stay Married is an award-winning rock cabaret writer/performer who has toured Australia, New Zealand and UK. She has 21 Green Room Award nominations (winning three), two Melbourne International Comedy Festival Golden Gibbo Award nominations for Best Independent Local Production (winning in 2011), won the 2015 NZ Fringe Best Cabaret Award, and is a two-time Moosehead Award recipient (2011 and 2014). She launched the David Bowie Is... exhibition in Melbourne, is a featured vocalist on Get Krackin', co-starred with Tony Martin in his and Sarena Rowell's award-winning sit-com podcast Childproof and is currently touring as MC for Circus OZ's 1980s extravaganza NEON.

Marissa Saroca is a singer/musician/actor with an extensive recording, songwriting, coaching, and live performance career. They have released two original albums and was on Team Lea (Salonga) of The Voice of the Philippines. Acting highlights: Ensemble in Ghost and Shrek (Manila), Gabriella in High School Musical (Newcastle Entertainment Centre), Ensemble/'Seasons Of Love' soloist cover for Maureen and Joanne in Rent (Sydney Opera House), The Arbiter in Chess (Civic Theatre Newcastle), and the title character in Lizzie (Hayes Theatre, Sydney).

Willow Sizer

Willow Sizer is an actor, musician, writer and a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Music Theatre BFA. Their work in Cabaret includes Put the Blame on Mame (2017) and two seasons of their Green Room nominated work Death of a Demi Diva (2019). They have been a core artist with internationally-renowned provocateurs Finucane and Smith Unlimited since 2018. In 2019, they completed a cross-disciplinary commission, Cowboys and Taxes, for Victorian College of the Arts and were nominated for a Green Room for their year's work: Paulette in Legally Blonde (James Terry Collective) and Pearl White in Ghost Quartet (Antipodes Theatre Co).

Tash York is a multi-award winning cabaret performer and MC with best cabaret nominations at every single fringe festival throughout Australia. Known for her ballsy voice, dynamic energy and an uncanny ability to rap on command, Tash “is a phenomenal performer, charismatic and courageous” (Theatre People). With her unique brand of comedy cabaret she has performed to sold out audiences across Australia and Edinburgh with international appearances on cruise ships all over the world.
