Part of Festival of the Unseen

SLOSHED SHAKESPEARE

Friday 17 February 2023

Meat Market Stables, North Melbourne

Doors and Sign Ups open 7pm, performances from 7.30pm

Entry: $15 general admission.

Fairly self explanatory 😅… Have you ever wanted to give Shakespeare a try? Is there a Shakespeare role you have always wanted to play?

Whether you love or hate the Bard, this event is sure to be a hilarious, messy night of Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it before. You’ll be able to watch Shakespeare aficionados delivering monologues under the influence, and we’ll also be encouraging any brave audience members to participate in group scenes and monologues. We’ve got you covered if you need a little liquid courage (or a lot!) but you can also ride the high of having an audience of supporters cheering you on! Hey nonny nonny!

Meet the Hosts

  • David Meadows

    He/Him

    HOST

David is a veteran stage and screen actor – thirty years of Shakespeare, Santa, and the odd soapie. His first voiceovers were character voices, but he quickly moved into straight reads, and has since covered radio, TV, hard sell, soft sell, government, corporate, narrations, animations, training modules, radio drama, and poetry recitals. He has all the standard accents solidly on tap, and a few more besides. Approachable “everyman” is David’s stock-in-trade, but his repertoire is very wide.

  • Melissa David

    She/Her

    HOST

Melissa David is a Northern California native and graduate of the University of Tennessee, currently ranked 8th in the world among graduate schools with an acting degree. Melissa wrote and performed in the cabaret From: New York, For: Him (Butterfly Club, Adelaide Fringe) and wrote the book for Mad World: An Immersive Experience (DBS). She is a founding member of Antipodes Theatre Company (where she recently appeared in the Australian Premiere of Ghost Quartet) and Artistic Director of Brooklyn Runaways (where she is currently co-hosting Contagious Cabaret with her creative partner, Peppy Smears). www.melissadavid.com
